Pratha Samajik Sanstha Currently our NGO partner had participated in the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai’s (MCGM) Swachh Survekshan 2020, a competition to assess the cleanliness standards of Urban Local Bodies.
In line with the guidelines issued by the Government of India under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, MCGM conducted the competition and ranked hospitals, hotels, schools, markets, resident welfare associations, community toilets and public toilets in Mumbai based on their cleanliness standards. The purpose of this exercise was to encourage healthy competition among various establishments in maintaining cleanliness and adopting responsible waste management practices.
At HUL, we stay committed to improving the wellbeing of people and communities through our initiatives that promote health and hygiene.

About Suvidha, Ghatkopar, Mumbai:
The Suvidha centre in Ghatkopar, Mumbai was built in 2016 by HUL in partnership with the MCGM and Pratha Samajik Sanstha. The project was devised, developed and built in close consultation with the local community.
The Suvidha centre provides water, sanitation, handwashing, shower facilities and laundry services at significantly lower than market rates. Suvidha has adopted circular economy principles to reduce water use. Fresh water is first used for brushing teeth, bathing, handwashing and laundry. The waste water from these activities becomes the input for flushing toilets.
